veggies made simple May 29, 2007 K. S. Mathoda (CT, USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
We love to grill vegetables. Had an old non-stick type pan, but it got rusted thru and was unsafe to use. I finally settled on this Grill Pan. Frankly it is the best twenty bucks I spent.
The stainless steel will discolor if heated too much, but cleaning is not too bad. The first time I used it without oiling the pan, cleaning needed quite a bit of scrubbing. I ended up using oven cleaner (Easy Off) and it worked pretty well - got all the crud off. I now oil the pan before putting it on the grill and clean up is not bad. The advantage of stainless steel is that with a bit of care it will give good service and there is nothing to flake off.
I also bought the veggie basket and use both interchangeably. The lips all around are great, I just use a spatula to lift the veggies to a serving dish.
LOVE: Quality of construction; Cost; Raised lips all around; Material
HATE: Cleanup is tough, but it is no tougher than with so called non-stick pans - had one.
Would I recommend it - definitely; I plan to replace mine with a similar one when this one goes (or I get tired of it)
Very nice May 30, 2007 David J. Bower (Grand Bay, Alabama) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was impressed with the quality of this slotted stainless steel pan. Very nice product, and much larger than I thought it was going to be. Very pleased with this product. The only downside is staining which is to be expected from high heat.
Another Quality Product from Weber April 6, 2008 Joel Dauteuil (Bethlehem, NH USA) The first thing you'll notice about this product is that the price seems remarkably fair given the quality.
This is truly grilling made easy - you can throw anything on this pan and you're good to go: veggies, baked potatoes, flakey fish.
I agree with the other reviewer about cleanup being a little tough, but truly it is no tougher than all the other stainless steel cookware we use - it's all a PITA but worth it in the long run.
Great Grilling August 3, 2009 Avid Cook (Los Angeles) This pan does what Weber says it will do. No warping, very sturdy, good sized handles so with the proper glove one doesn't worry about mishandling a very hot pan. My veggies come out great with very little mess and no more slices of anything lost to the fire. It also worked great in my oven broiler.
Top Quality May 23, 2010 Woodbine Don't buy the cheap coated grill pans. They warp and become useless. This is the real deal for anyone serious about grilling.
